Anthony Toner Continues Latest Tour With Another 6 NI Dates

Celebrated singer-songwriter Anthony Toner is set to enchant music lovers across Northern Ireland with six additional dates on his latest tour. This series of live shows comes in celebration of his fourteenth release, “Ghost Notes Vol 2”, a carefully curated collection of cover songs that showcase Toner’s distinctive musical style.

Having already graced stages in England and Scotland earlier this year, Toner is now bringing his unique sound back to his native Northern Ireland. His latest album presents a mellow, late-night vibe, focusing on intimate vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, and harmonies. The selection of songs spans a wide array of artists, from the likes of Tom Waits and Randy Newman to Christine McVie, King Crimson, and John Martyn, reflecting Toner’s eclectic musical taste and versatility.

The live shows, running up to the end of the year, will see Toner performing both solo and alongside other artists, offering audiences a varied and rich musical experience. The popularity of these performances is evident, with several dates selling out shortly after being announced, underscoring Toner’s standing as one of Northern Ireland’s most sought-after live acts.

Based in Belfast, Anthony Toner is not only celebrated for his cover albums but also for his original work. He is currently working on “Our Lady of the Wind and Rain”, his ninth album of original material, and planning an extensive tour for the first half of 2019. Known for his engaging stage presence, particularly his captivating between-songs patter, and his skilled guitar playing, Toner has become a staple in Northern Ireland’s music scene.

His performances range from solo acoustic sets to collaborative ‘In the Round’ concerts with fellow musicians, and he is also a member of the Ronnie Greer Blues Band, where he showcases his prowess on the electric guitar. Toner’s style, often described as a blend of James Taylor’s gentleness and John Prine’s storytelling, resonates deeply with audiences, making him a beloved figure in contemporary roots music.

The upcoming Northern Ireland dates promise to be a treat for fans and newcomers alike, offering an opportunity to experience Toner’s warm, insightful, and literate style in an intimate live setting.
